I heard this on the Rush Limbaugh Show on Friday - 13 April 2007. It was not Rush hosting at this time.
I can't remember exactly what was said, I was driving my Silverado at the time, but here is the best I can remember.
10 men go out to dinner together
The bill comes to $100
That would be $10 each but they decided to pay the bill the way Income Taxes are paid
The 4 poorest guys don't pay anything
The 5th poorest guy pays $1
The 6th poorest guy pays $3
The 7th poorest guy pays $5
The 8th poorest guy pays $12
The 9th poorest guy pays $18
The 10th poorest guy or you could say the richest guy pays $61
They go to this place, to eat, for a long enough time that the manager now says they can have a discount of 20%
So now the bill comes to $80
That would be $8 each but they still want to pay the bill the way Income Taxes are paid.
The 5 poorest guys don't pay anything
The 6th poorest guy pays $2
The 7th poorest guy pays $4
The 8th poorest guy pays $10
The 9th poorest guy pays $15
The 10th poorest guy or you could say the richest guy pays $49
When the guys got outside and got to visiting the 9th poorest guy says this is not fair I only saved $3 over yesterday but the richest guy saved $12 over yesterday
The 8th poorest guy says, hey I only saved $2 over yesterday, that's not fair
The 7th poorest guy says, well I only saved $1 over yesterday, this rich guy is really taking advantage of me.....
Then the 4 poorest guys said, now we really got robbed, the manager gave us a 20% discount on this meal and we didn't save anything at all!!
That darn manager only gave a discount to the Rich guys and/or he only gives Tax Cuts to the Rich...........
In fact they all got so mad at the Rich guy that they beat him up.
The next day the rich guy did not show up for the meal.
Then those 9 poorest guy realized they did not even have enough money to buy a meal so they had to go without.
It makes no sense at all, the Liberal Democrats saying terrible things about Bush and the Conservatives for giving tax cuts to the Rich.
The poor don't pay taxes, so how can you give a tax cut to them???
And what the Liberals miss altogether is that when you give tax cuts then people go out an make more money, that can be taxed, and the overall income, to the governenment goes UP.
When you "Beat Up" on the rich guys they just quit making all that money so then there is no money to tax and the income to the government goes DOWN.
