such thoughts and actions keep you from becoming what you could be

Have Hero's [I suggest Jesus Christ] and become more and more like them

Then, help someone else do the same
In Fact the best thing you will ever do and the closest you will ever come to being in Heaven and/or being Heavenly
will be when you help someone else get to Heaven and/or help someone else to become Heavenly

Turn off the TV, open up your scriptures and go to Church and soon, you will know

BAD reasons to do something:
That is just the way I am
I always do it that way
Everybody does it
Movie Star and/or Famous Person does it
Parents/Children/Siblings/Friends/Church Leader does it

GOOD reasons to do something:
God said to do it
Best for the other person [if you truly love someone, you will do what is best for them]
Follow the Prophet's Council
Do what you say and say what you do
Be guilty of being a Mormon
