01 August 2007 ................. Wednesday Happy Birthday LUKE Marilee and David leave for work this morning. I started sending out my "It's August" e-mails to the Stake in the Southwest Area. I got my hair cut at the Clip Joint. When I tried to go back to Casa Grande later in the day, so I could ship the failed "Skeeter Vac" back to the factory, the water pump was out, on the Silverado, so I could not go. I called Skeeter Vac, on the phone, did some trouble shooting with them, and they agreed, the Skeeter Vac is dead. If I send it back to them, they will send me a new one.

02 August 2007 ................... Thursday I took a chance and drove the Silverado to K&C Budget Muffler, because there was nothing else here to drive!! I made it so I had them put a new Water Pump on it. That cost me approx. $450.00!!! WOW!! But I had no choice, I have to have a car and I can't repair it myself if I don't have a second car around to drive to get parts and/or tools, as needed!! Then I drove to Postal Connection and shipped the failed Skeeter Vac back to the factory for repair. I bought a few groceries, at Wal*Mart, along with Oil/Filter for the Silverado. Later I changed the Oil/Filter in the Silverado. Marilee is making Wedding Cakes today because tomorrow is the wedding of Melissa/Brad.

03 August 2007 ................ Friday Melissa and Bradley are married, today, by Bishop Cozart, in the Casa Grande Stake Center. I do some Area Auditor work, in the morning, and I cut down some weeds along the pasture fenceline. About Noon, Marilee and I go to the Casa Grande Stake Center, which is also our Ward Building for the Arizona City Ward. Connie and Charity Grover meet us there and help us decorate the building for Melissa and Brad's Wedding this evening. Connie Grover, among other things, ironed all the table clothes and put them on all the tables that she help us set up for the Wedding Reception. WOW -- Thank you Connie and Charity!! Marilee spends the day working on the Wedding Cake, decorating it in a beautiful way better than I have ever seen. It was delicious in addition to being beautiful. At about 6pm Melissa and Brad were married by Bishop Duane Cozart, our bishop in the Arizona City Ward. Lot of people there.......on Melissa's side of the family were, Marilee, Hank, Michelle, Levi, Priscilla, Bridgette, Jon, Gaia, Brent, Sara, David, Rachel, Wendell Jr., Laree/Keith and gang, Kevin/Ginny and gang, Alan/??? and gang, Karl/??? and gang. It was wonderful the way so many of Marilee's siblings stayed and helped us clean up afterwards. WOW -- made a short job of it. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.

04 August 2007 .................. Saturday/b> Marilee home from work today. We got a few sprinkles last night. We did a lot of cleaning up and organizing after the Wedding Yesterday. Marilee and Melissa went to Baby Shower for Rebecca's Daughters.

05 August 2007 .................. FAST Sunday Marilee and I attend Arizona City Ward Meetings, at 9am. It is a wonderful experience and I am glad I did not miss it. David was there also, having driven there from Andrew's house. After the Block, David and Marilee go back to Paradise while I go Home Teaching. I have a nice visit with Sister Haines and with Sister Wilson. When I get home I rest for a bit Marilee, David and I drive the Silverado to Darren/Julies, in Mesa, for "Taco Sunday"!! It is great!!![big smile] Dixie is there with Kassidy and Taylor. We sing Happy Birthday to Dixie. This is the first "Taco Sunday" that Dixie has been to. Lots of people and lots of good times. Rachel is there too. Dad brought a a reconcilliation sheet from his Other Account since he is the Financial Clerk in his ward. I looked it over and we had a talk about it and we agreed I will meet him at his ward building on Tuesday so we can go over it in more detail. Cloudy and sprinkly today.

06 August 2007 ........................ Monday Marilee and David go to work. I work on Area Auditor Stuff and get ready for training session with dad tomorrow. I call the Audit Committee Chairman, for the Mesa Arizona Stake, David Christensen to let him know of my intentions to help Dad in the Udall Ward. Dad needs help reconcilling the "Other Account". I wanted to be sure I don't step on anyone's toes when I do that. He was glad to have me do that and said I was welcome to do so. After finished my "Stewardship Report" for July I drive to Casa Grande, Office Max, and FAX that report to the Audit Department in SLC. I also buy Ink and Paper for the printer. I leave my suit at Comet Cleaners for repairs and cleaning. Fill the Silverado with fuel at Circle K. Get a few things at Wal*Mart then drive back to Paradise. I hook the Silverado to the Drag then I drag Blair Road and Paradise Lane and drag the weeds in the North Pasture area. Looks a lot better now. Cloudy all day, but does not rain, here in Paradise. .

07 August 2007 ...................... Tuesday Itching drove me out of bed at about 3am, so I come to the Office and work on this Journal and on Area Auditor Stuff. At 8am I left for Mesa to help Dad at the Udall Ward. I stopped at Fry's in Casa Grande to make a deposit and get something to eat. Dad and Twila and I worked in the Udall Ward's Clerk's Office till about 1pm and we got a lot done. We did not get it all done so we went to Dad's house to eat lunch and agreed to work on this again on Thursday at 10am. Back in Paradise I took a nap and worked on Area Auditor stuff and washed clothes and worked on Pasture Fence.

08 August 2007 .......................... Wednesday Marilee is here today, with the Malibu, so I work on the Malibu. I replace the rear Brake Pads and Machine the rear Brake Rotors. I get the Machining done in Eloy at the Service Center. I purchase the brake pads at the new Auto Zone in Casa Grande. I have a hard time putting the new pads on because it takes me awhile to realize that I have to screw in the Pistons, rather than squeeze them in as I have done on every other car since Disc Brakes were invented!!!! It is a hot day and I suffer greatly, but, I get the job done!!!. Also I replace a flat, nogood, RR tire on the Horse trailer. As a reward Marilee made me some Orange Jellow with Grated Carrots and Pineapple. I loved that!!! Barbara Morgan, Christa McAuliffe's backup, went into space today, aboard the Endeavour. It was in 1986, 21 years ago, that Christa McAuliffe, headed for Space aboard the Challenger but the Challenger exploded and all aboard were lost. Ronald Reagan was the President at that time.

09 August 2007 .................. Thursday Happy Birthday to Hank Gregory Eyring Marilee goes to work at Banner Desert Medical Center At 10amMST I am at the Udall Ward in the Mesa Stake to help Dad and Twila reconcile their Other Account. We get it done!! We had some problems with the computer but we got it done. About 1pm I drive over to Hank's to tell him "Happy Birthday" but noone there so I leave a note. Later I call Hank to tell him happy Birthday but he is not there so I leave a message with Lindsay to tell him Happy Birthday.

10 August 2007 ................. Friday Happy Birthday to my Great Grand Son, Weston Smith I would call Weston to tell him happy birthday but I don't know for sure if he is in Utah or North Carolina!!! they are in the process of moving. Marilee and David go to work. After a nap, I drive to Casa Grande where I get my repaired and cleaned suit from Comet Cleaners. From Norris RV I get the needed part to properly mount the Jack on the Horse Trailer. I gas up the Silverado at Circle K. I notice that Cris Cole has cut the Sudan Grass just north of us. From Home Depot I get needed materials which I then bring home and repair the fence around Orion's pasture. I do some serious trimming of the furtherest north Eclyptus Bush, trying to convert it to a tree. I may have killed it but I don't care, if it won't be a tree, then I don't want it!!!

11 August 2007 .................... Saturday Marilee and I drive to HomeDepot to get some materials for working on Paradise. On the way home we get a couple of "Shredded Beef Breakfast Burritos" at Del Taco. They are terrible!! So greasy the greasy ran down onto our clothes so we had to change when we got home!!! I repair the water to the Evaporative cooler by putting on a new supply line. David and Marilee start to put the roof onto the Washer/Dryer room. Marilee and Melissa go to a Bridal Shower for Rachel that is at Grandmother's home.

12 August 2007 ......................... Sunday I think it was 125 degrees today!!! Marilee and I go to church early, at the request of the Bishopric, where Jacob Lamoreaux issues Marilee a call to be the Ward Organist. In Sacrament Meeting Marilee is sustained to that position! After Church I help Brother Hedelius with the Other Account and we agree to meet on Friday to finish the job. I then go to the Deann Lara home for home teaching. We go through 1st and 2nd Timothy and learn a lot from that. I take Cody Lara with me, as my Partner, then we Home Teach the Lamoreaux family, Jacob, Deanna, Kiera. It is a very good visit. On the way back to Arizona City we stop in Eloy and visit with Sonja. Martin is there this time. When I get back to Paradise I get to visit with Marilee, David, Rachel, Ashley, Melissa, Brad, Jack and I get to eat some of Marilee's delicious cooking. I am very tired and I go to bed early.

13 August 2007 .......................... Monday Happy Birthday Julie [smile] I fail to reach Julie but I did call Darren to tell her Happy Birthday. I verify that we are having Supper, with Wendy, at Bill Johnson's Big Apple, this coming Saturday. About the time we go to bed this evening, 9 to 10pm we get hit by a Thunderstorm. Drops a lot of rain and does damage to our Garden Area and destroys a sliding glass door we got from the Carters, but had not yet installed!! At 10pm the power goes out and it stays out the rest of the night. Lots of rain. .

14 August 2007 ......................... Tuesday Still no power this morning. I guess Brad and Melissa gave it up and went to Casa Grande for the night. Turns out Casa Grande got hit a lot worse than we did!!! Marilee and David went to work. Power comes back on at 06:30amMST I visit Dr. Gonda at 9am. I wore only slippers so I could take them off and have Dr. Gonda look at my Feet. My dear wife has advised me to always do that!! He is going to increase my medication and he wants me to get a Heart Test from Dr. Ligouri!! Gonda says if I refuse to take the Avandia I may have to start taking shots!!! I try to go to Wal*Mart but they are closed because of the storm last night!! Arizola Road is closed because of Storm Damage. I hear that they now have people housed in the Junior High School because of excessive damage to some Trailer Park?? After that I get a Bean Burrow from Del Taco and drive to Mesa Udall Ward where I help Dad with his MLS. He needed help clearing out some of his unused Other Sub-Catagories. I expained the reason I was wearing only slippers and Dad said, "I Know what you mean, Twila found blood on the floor and upon investigation found I had a injury to my foot that I did not even know about!! Back to Casa Grande to get some things from Home Depot and from Wal*Mart, which is not open. Later I got this e-mail from Twila: About 10:15 a.m. as Dad/Grandpa was getting into shower his right foot slipped as he was sliding the shower bench over the tub. The bottom of his foot hit the bolt that holds to toilet to the floor. He gouged a little hole in the bottom of his foot. He didn't know it. I didn't realize at that time he had injured his foot. When I helped him out of the shower I noticed that the white towel I had on the floor had blood on it. I then discovered the injury on his foot. I cleaned it with alcohol. He didn't feel any pain. I put a bandage on it. We were to meet Laddy at the church at 11:00 so we did go to the church. Then home and ate lunch. I tried to call Dad/Grandpa's primary care doctor, but no answer. I took him to Urgent Care at 2:00. The doctor used DermaBond to seal it. It's a clear substance that seals the wound. He couldn't feel the doctor touching his foot. Then he was given a tetanus shot. They had us wait 20 minutes in case he had a reaction. Everything went fine. I took him home and he took his afternoon nap. Twila Melissa is sick this evening and at about 9pm she asks for a Blessing. I find Bryan Moody at the Church, doing some Scount Work and he agrees to come by here on his way home and help with that blessing. My Vial of Consecrated Oil was empty so by the time Brother Moody arrived and I had cleaned it out and filled it with Pure Olive Oil. So Brother Moody and I begin the Blessing by consecrating the Olive Oil then, at Melissa's request, I anoint her with the Consecrated oil and Brother Moody Seals the annointing and proceeds to give her a very nice blessing. I love the Gospel. I am so thankful for the revealed word of God and for good people that live them so we can get help at a time like this.

15 August 2007 ............... Wednesday David not here this morning. Marilee goes to work at Banner Desert Medical Center. Some clouds around, may rain again. Melissa, Brad, Jack go to Casa Grande and tell me they won't be back tonight. Staying at Brad's Grandmother's place while she is gone. I take the Raw Water Pump out of the boat. When I remove the Impeller from the pump I find that it is disentegrated and pieces have gone into the oil cooler. It is a wonder it has worked for this long!!! I put in a new impeller. I wash a lot of clothes. I was a lot of dishes. I don't get caught up on either. I am learning a lot about the Trial and eventual Crucifiction of Jesus Christ by Reading McConkie's Messiah Series of books. Every word strengthens my testimony of God the Eternal Father and his Son Jesus Christ. I intend to keep learning and changing until I can get to where I Think what Jesus things Believe what Jesus believes Want what Jesus wants Know what Jesus knows Behave like Jesus behaves I am NOT giving up my Agency I am excercising my Agency I want to become like Jesus I sure have a long ways to go [smile] but I can change myself a little at a time until someday I have the same desires and the same agenda that Jesus has. It can happen. It is happening. I must change. I will change. I am changing!

16 August 2007 ..................... Thursday Marilee and David leave for work. Melissa, Brad, Jack not here this morning.

17 July 2007 ....................... Tuesday Cloudy this morning. Melissa is still here...........no baby yet. I work on Area Auditor Stuff. Marilee and Melissa and Brad drive, in Brad's Car, to Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, Arizona. Labor is started, on Melissa, but no baby today. I do a lot of Area Auditor Work. Marilee and I talked on the phone and it is determined that there is no reason for me to come to the Hospital this evening.

18 August 2007 .................. Saturday Marilee goes to work at Banner Desert Medical Center.

19 August 2007 ............................. Sunday Marilee and I drive to Arizona City Ward where Marilee plays the Organ for Sacrament Meeting. It is her new calling and she loves it. Bishop Cozart asks us to attend the Randolf Ward on 02 September 2007. After Sacrament Meeting, Marilee and I go to Mesa to Darren's for Lunch with them because Wendy and Traci are there on their way from Houston to Mesquite. Bubba is not there because he is driving the U-Haul Truck and the Car Carrying Trailer from Houston to Mesquite and since he can't drive the Truck over Boulder Dam he has to take the long way home. We have a very nice visit then we drive to the Casa Grande Stake Center where we meet with President Gibson and get our new "Bar Coded" Temple Recommends signed. Back home to Paradise and visiting with Melissa and Brad and Jack. We take a nap. Marilee makes a loaf of bread. We watch Movie about the Handcart Companies and also about the Restoration. I love the Gospel Because of the Restoration of the Gospel it is possible for us to enjoy our family relationships, forever more. Without the Gospel, once death has occured, we will be sole and seperate beings forevermore. Saying " I love the Gospel " and saying " I love my family " is one and the same thing!!! This Gospel "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints" is the same Gospel taught by Jesus Christ, by Noah, by Enoch, by Adam, by Moses, by Samuel, by Daniel, by Nephi, by Lehi, by Jeremiah, by Johah. There is only one true Gospel and that is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Bible and the Book of Mormon are preaching the same message "Come unto Christ and then become as Christ" It is doable, it is being done, and I hope to do it....[smile]

20 August 2007 ..................... Monday David was not here, this morning. Marilee goes to work at Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa. I go to Casa Grande to get some parts for the boat and some food. When Marilee and David arrive, in the evening, I have a Salad fixed and they brring a Pizza. Good food and good company with Marilee, David, Melissa, Brad, Jack, Myself.

21 August 2007 .................. Tuesday Marilee and David go to work today. I work on Ceiva Frame and Journal and Area Auditor Stuff. Go to Casa Grande to get parts for boat and shirts and Gasoline. Stop by TA to Home Teach Jennifer. Work on boat and it still don't work!!![frown] More work on Area Auditor Stuff. Now I got to stop all this work and get to work Washing Dishes and Washing Clothes and Putting away the Dishes and Clothes that I wash!!!

22 August 2007 ................ Wednesday Marilee and David go to work. I go to work on Boat and Area Auditor stuff and Waching Towels. Chris Cole is working on the Irrigation Ditch today. Kris Gurr is working building house on #3. Neighbors in #3 are filling their Swimming Pool again. this is the 3rd time and it is against the Well Agreement to fill a swimming pool. I write up the Well Problems and send a copy to David Pearson and Kris Gurr. When I go to start up the Boat today, the battery, both batteries, are too weak to start the motor!!! Sara and David arrive, from San Diego, today, for David/Rachel Wedding/Reception on Friday.

23 August 2007 ................. Thursday Marilee is here today and she starts the day by going to practice the Organ. I work on Boat and Area Auditor and Journal I go to Casa Grande to get a new battery, free from Wal*Mart, because the old one failed in less than a year. Marilee and I put up six(6) of the rafters over the washer/dryer area. Marilee and I go to the Stake Center to help John and Kathy Beatty decorate for David and Rachel's Wedding Reception tomorrow.

24 August 2007 .................. Friday David and Rachel married today, in the Mesa Arizona Temple, for Time and for all Eternity!! What a wonderful thing. What a wonderful blessing from our Eternal Father in Heaven. As David and Rachel go through life and the grow closer and closer together and they love each other more and more, they will have that wonderful knowledge and feeling that "Death will NOT part them". This beautiful Temple Marriage will make it possible for them and their children to be bound ito their family unit forever more. Plus, they are being obedient to God. God says to marry in the Temple for Time and all Eternity and they are doing that. This life will be over, all too soon, and We will all have to stand before God and account for our time here. It is good to be able to say to him, I was obedient. Then he will give you all that he has and he has a lot. [smile] At the reception, this evening, in the Casa Grande Stake Center, I could not help that Brother Sebring was there doing the Audit on the 2nd Ward. It was a wonderful Reception with lots and lots of people attending. Much work was done by many people to prepare for this Reception then clean up afterwards but I think the people that did the most work were John and Kathy Beatty.

25 July 2007 ............................ Wednesday Marilee and David take the Malibu to work today. While working on the Skeeter Vac, I got rained on and got so wet I had to change clothes. Skeeter Vac still will not run [frown]

26 August 2007 ....................... Sunday Marilee and I attend the Arizona City Ward Meetings at 9am. Our speaker are President Cavenee of the Gila River Branch and Brother Jeffries recently release High Counselor. Marilee and I teach the Lesson "Someday by Elder Eyring" in High Priests Group and in Relief Society". I help Brother Hedelius reconcile the Other Account, as he prepares for the Audit this week. We take a nap then I do Area Audior Work.

27 August 2007 ................... Monday Marilee goes to work. I go to Dr. Dick's Office for teeth cleaning. Both the cleaner, Carla, and one of the Dentists, Dr. Mitchell, said my teeth are good!! I stop by Troy Nichols and Jennifer Proctor and leave cards telling them about BBQ at Bishop's of Friday. Lots of Area Auditor Work. Wash lots of clothes and dishes. Work a little bit on the boat. Melissa, Brad, Jack go to Tucson to visit with Ann.

28 August 2007 .................... Tuesday Total eclipse of the moon at 2am. Moon enters Umbra at about 2am and is totally immersed in Umbra at about 3am. Moon starts out of the Umbra at about 4:30am then I go to bed. When we get up to look at the Eclips at about 2am we find that Melissa/Brad are not here. Marilee gets on the phone and learns that their car quit, on the way back from Tucson, then could not reach us, so they contacted a friend in Casa Grande to go get them and they left their car alongside I10 just this side of Pinal Air Park. I take brad to his car and then he steers in as I pull it here to paradise.

29 August 2007 ................... Wednesday

30 August 2007 ................... Thursday Marilee gone to work. My first full day on the Atkins diet and I am not doing well!! I help Brad by hooking up the Battery Charger to his car to see if the engine will turn over at all. I does turn over but it does not start. At least we now know that the engine is not siezed and/or froze up.

31 August 2007 ................ Friday Well here we are...the Last Day of August. Marilee has gone to work and I am working on Area Auditor stuff and this journal, so far. Pulled the drag over Blair Rd. and Paradise Lane. Cut the grass between #3 and #4. 31 August 2007 ……………………………… Friday I have not received the new pump so I called Jim Sebbens. I talked to [I think it was Bill] and he said they have the new Aermotor pump there, it just came in, and I can come and pick it up on Tuesday! Washed a lot of towels and then put them away.
