01 October 2003 .............................. Wednesday I began this day at 12:00:01amMST at Calence in Tempe. After I transition to David Shirey, I drive to Harbor Freight Tools, where I exchage the "Broken" winch [portable] that I bought from them yesterday, It was broken when I took it out of the box!! This after noon, Marilee, David, Melissa, Myself, park the Impala in just the right spot to use it as an anchor. I hool the NEW Winch to it and also the front bumper of the pickup. We then "winch" the Silverado out of the Ditch, with David at the wheel of the Silverado and Melissa hold the brakes on the Impala. This worked and now I can drive the Silverado again. I finish off this day at 11:59:59pmMST at Calence in Tempe.

03 October 2003 ..................................... Friday - Congratulations to Levi Levi has passed the State Bar. I never doubted that he would!!

04 October 2003 ........................................... Saturday - General Conference We have a nice visit with the Johnson's today, where we eat and watch Conference.

05 October 2003 ................................... Sunday - General Conference This morning we eat breakfast at Johnsons, and then watch conference there. Very Good Converence today. at 9pm I drive to Calence where I transition with Scott Noga. I finish off that day at 11:59:59pmMST at Calence in Tempe.

06 October 2003 .............................................. Monday24 Days till Retirement I begin this day at 12:00:01amMST at Calence in Tempe. Today Marilee got news that Desert Samaratin is going to put her on Staff.

07 October 2003 ......................................... Tuesday I start off at Calence at 12:00:01amMST. After I transition to Scott Noga at 08:30amMST I drive to the "Clip Shop" in Casa Grande and get a much needed Haricut. I stop at Bank One where I buy some Money Orders, then I drive home to sleep for awhile. I drive to Casa Grande in time to send off the Silverado payment before I pick up Melissa, from school, at 03:45amMST. Melissa and I drive to Jiffy Lube where I get a Full Service done on the Silverado. We then got to Casa Verde to get David, but he is not at Casa Verde, he is at CAC. So there is a lot of time wasted there, but finally we all get to Paradise, safely. I did not get much sleep today. Not good. According to the Radio, Grey Davis has been "Recalled" and Arnold Schwartsenagger has been "Elected". In the evening, I drive to Calence, where I transition with Craig Stolins.

08 October 2003 ............................................. Wednesday22 Days until Retirement I begin this day at 12:00:01amMST at Calence. The California Governer Recall/Election is over. The count is not yet complete BUT it looks like Arnold got TWICE as many votes as all the other candidates COMBINED! That's a MANDATE But, what does Arnold stand for? Hard to tell. [Registered Republican, but OH so Liberal.........] What does Arnold know about Governing? Time will have to tell because there is NO record to judge from. David has now written up his Eagle Project and taken it to the City of Casa Grande for their signature. Today I sleep a lot, because yesterday I did not. Before I leave for work I get a chance to visit with Marilee and David and Melissa. In the evening I drive to Calence where I transition with Scott Thompson.

09 October 2003 ............................. Thursday 21 Days till retirement I begin this day at Calence at 12:00:01amMST.

12 October 2003 ......................... Sunday18 Days till retirment Wow, what a day. First of all we had to get on www.lds.org and prepare our talks for today. I went Home Teaching to Haines, Lara, Anguiano, by myself, because David was preparing his talk. Marilee and David and Melissa and I talk in Church today. It went well. I don't see how anyone could listen to Marilee talk and not know that the Church is true! Marilee taught the Lesson, about Paul, in the Gospel Doctrine Class. I was to teach the lesson in the High Priest's Group, but, we had a testimony meeting insead. Then I worked with Les Grover to do the Donations. Melissa has feeling stomach pain for a couple weeks so We had the Bishop give her a blessing. Finally at home, I ate a bowl of beans then slept for a bit then I drove to Calence where I transition with Scott Noga. I finish off this day at Calence ata 11:59:59pmMST

13 October 2003 ............................. Monday -- Bridgette's Brithday17 Days till Retirement Bridgette Marilee Gunderson 13 October 1979 to 2003 - 24 Years Old Today I begin this day at Calence at 12:00:01amMST. At 08:39amMST I transition with David Shirey, then I drive to the Casa Grande Regional Medical Center Emergency Room to visit with Melissa who is in there as a patient, at this time. Melissa has had stomach pain for a couple weeks. The ER doctors did a lot of tests and could find nothing wrong, to expain the stomach pains. When we know that she is OK and she is going home, I take off for Paradise. I move the horses, eat a bit, go to bed. Family Home Evening is really good this eveing. We each told a story from a Church Article that we read and it was good. After Family Home Eveing, I drive to Calence where I transition with Jared Harding. I call Bridgette, at Ann's, in Ft Huachuchu, Arizona, she answers, although I think I am talking to Ann, at first, and I have a nice talk with her, wishing her a happy birthday. Bridgette worked today, getting off at 06:00pmMST. Ann and Rob give her a BIG cookie and Rob fixes her a delicious supper of Chicken Tenders and Hamburgers with "Buffalo Wing Sauce". Rob is a GREAT cook. Bridgette had just finished talking to Levi. Here is a copy of the e-mail that I just sent Rush Limbaugh: Dear Rush, I wish you had not become addicted. 14 October 2003 .......................... Tuesday16 Days till Retirement I begin this day at 12:00:01amMST at Calence in Tempe. At 08:00amMST I transition with Scott Noga. Before I leave Calence, I talk with Steve Varley and Jennifer Dawes about whether or not I am now fully vested in my 401K. I am. I then drive to Paradise, where I sleep till time to go pick up Melissa, from school. As I am getting ready to go, I become aware that someone is there. I check around and David is already home from school. Rachel brought him home because his stomach is hurtting him AGAIN. On the way to get Melissa I exchange dirty shirts for clean shirts, at the laundry, I fill up with gasoline at Albertsons. $1.42 per gallon today. Melissa and I drive back to Paradise where I sleep till time to go to work. When I arrive at Calence at 10pm, Brad Curcio and Craig Stolins are there. We have an interesting and lively discussion about Politics and Religion and Guns and Right/Wrong. I finished off this day, at Calence, at 11:59:59pmMST

15 October 2003 ............................... Wednesday15 Days till Retirement This day begins with me at 12:00:01amMST with me at Calence, Inc. in Tempe,AZ. After I tansition with David Shirey, at 08:00amMST, I drive to the Social Security Office on Marshall in Casa Grande. I make an appointment to file for Social Security next Wednesday - 22 October 2003. When Marilee comes home from work, we walk to Corman Road and back, with Oreo and Onyx tagging along. Marilee and I eat supper at Denny's. She had Steak and Eggs, I had a Hamburger and Fries.

19 October 2003 ............................... Sunday11 Days till Retirement Marilee teach the Sunday School, Gospel Doctrine, class today at 03:00pmMST. 21 October 2003 ............................... Tuesday[9 Days till Retirement] I begin this day at 12:01:00amMST at Calence in Tempe. I hardly to get to see Marilee, at all, today. She is gone to work when I get home. She is there when I wake up to go to work, so I get to say "Hi - Bye". That is NOT enough!! At 3:45pmMST I pick up Melissa from Casa Grande Middle School. We don't pick up David, because he has his Nursing Class at Casa Verde then he has "Blue Notes". Today I had a nice talk with Wendy, on the phone. She informed me that Marcus is coming home from his Mission in Brazil. He will arrive in Las Vegas, NV, on Thursday Morning - 23 October 2003. At the request of Marcus, after they pick him up, at the airport, they are going to attend a Session of the Las Vegas Temple. What a wonderful idea! What a good way to get, even closer, to the Spirit of God! How often have I said "You can't get to Heaven by accident....You have to make it happen!" I was sad to learn that things are not going so well for Traci, in Texas. The Nanny job has not panned out, and if fact she got ripped off, she is broke, and she does not have much to eat. I said "She does not have to starve, She can go over to Dixie's and She will be fed." In the evening, I drive to Calence, in Tempe, where I transition, for the next to the last time, with Craig Stolins. I finish off this day 11:59:59pmMST at Calence, Inc. in Tempe,AZ.

22 October 2003 ........................................ Wednesday [8 days till retirement] I begin this day at 12:01:00amMST at Calence in Tempe. After I transition to Scott Noga, at 08:00amMST, I go home and go to bed. I am very very tired. Marilee and I go for walk this evening. I like walking with her. Friday - Levi Admitted to Bar 06 Days till Retirement Date: Mon, 6 Oct 2003 10:28:27 -0700 (PDT) From: "Levi Gunderson" Subject: admission ceremony To: wendelleyring@yahoo.com, marileeeyring@yahoo.com, haackann@yahoo.com There will be a ceremony where I will be admitted to the bar (along with all the other successful applicants). It will be at 10 am on Friday, Oct. 24th, at Gammage Auditorium in Tempe. You're all invited. Dress is church-dress standard, pretty much. Spread the word if you'd like. -Levi We rode with Levi, from Paradise to Arizona State University, for Levi's admission to the Arizona State Bar. After parking Levi's rented Mercury, we walked over to Grady Gammage Auditorium. There we sepereated and Levi sat with his fellow Admittees and we sat in the rear, spectator section. This was a session of the "Arizona Supreme Court". It is the first time I ever sat in a session of the Supreme Court. Each of the Justice's gave advise and councel to the new Lawyers, then had them take the "Oath". Then they went to an area where they all signed their names to the Arizona State Bar. Now Levi is Officially a Lawyer............Congratulation LEVI!! We then enjoyed visiting and refreshments, up on the Balcony, overlooking the Apache Trail to Mill Avenue curve. Attending the State Bar Ceremony were, Grandmother, Angela, Alan, Robin, Marilee, Levi, David, Rachel, Melissa. Then attending the follow-up Lunch at Guedo's, at Guadaupe and ValVista, were Grandmother, Keith, Laree, Marilee, Levi, David, Rachel, Melissa, Ginia, Angela, Eric, Joshua, Matthew. Then we road back to Paradise, with Levi in his rented Mercury. I tried to talk Levi into buying a Silverado.....or maybe a Rubicon. I am not sure I succeeded. In the evening Levi, David, Rachel, Melissa, Andrew played Balderdash and had a great time doing it.

25 October 2003 ....................... Saturday[5 days till retirement] Marilee is gone to work today. I do a lot chores around the place. At about noon, on Saturday - 25 October 2003, the Youth of the Casa Grande Stake, and a lot of Adults, got together at the Casa Grande Stake Center. They began preparing for the "Road Show" that they then did for all the rest of us, that evening at 7pm. So, they took this from ground level "0", creating scripts and learning them, creating Props/Scenery..........and all it takes to put on a show! Pretty Impressive Marilee and I attended that Road Show and we loved it, especially the parts that were done by our children, David and Melissa and Andrew. Historically, "Back in My Day", Road Shows were "Shows that went on the Road." These shows were learned and practiced and Props/Scenery created, by the Youth, for several weeks in advance. Then, on the night of the show, they would drive to each and every Ward Building in the Stake, set up their props/scenery, do their show, tear it all down and throw it into cars/pickups then drive to the next Ward Building. It is still called "Road Show", but it is no longer "on the road". After the Road Show, David and Melissa and Andrew went to the Regional Dance, in Chandler.

26 October 2003 ................................ Sunday[4 days till retirement] After a wonderful supper, by Marilee, I drive to Calence in Tempe. I finish off this day at 11:59:59pmMST at Calence. This is the Last Sunday that that will ever happen.

27 October 2003 .................................. Monday[3 days till retirement] I begin this day at Calence at 12:00:01amMST. This is the Last Monday for me at Calence. I am soooo tired. I need a lot of rest! After I transition with David Shirey, I drive home to Paradise. On the way home, from Calence, I call Shari, in San Diego. I wanted to be sure she is not being threatened by the "Wild Fires" that are burning, in California, from Mexico to Los Angeles. Shari did answer the phone and she is OK and not threatened although they are restricted to the house and have put duct tape around the doors to keep out the MUCH MUCH smoke. It is a very serious situation, but they are OK! I move the horses to fresh pasture, I visit with David and Andrew for a bit, then I sleep all day...I am sooo tired. After I awake, I get to visit with Marilee for awhile. I learn that Melissa has gone to Tucson to visit with Brent. Tonight "Monday Night Football" is being played in Tempe, Arizona. It was moved from San Diego, California, at the last minute, because Southern California is on fire. I guess the fires extend from Mexico to just north of Los Angeles. I then drive to Calence where I transition with Jared Harding I finish off this day at Calence at 11:59:59pmMST.

28 October 2003 ............................... Tuesday[2 days till retirement] I begin this day at Calence at 12:01:59amMST. That will only happen 2 more times. This is the Last Tuesday for me at Calence. I sent the following message to CBS: I have become informed on the Script of your proposed movie about the Reagan's. If you let that awful movie be shown on CBS, I and all the people I know will stop watching CBS AND stop buying from your advertisers. Wendell Eyring 3612 E. Blair Rd. There are no children or anybody else in Paradise, when I arrive there. I move the horses then go to bed. When Marilee arrives home we have a nice visit. We measure and mark where the Next Cube is going to be built. In the eveing we are visited by Bishopric [Les Grover and ???? ????]. I drive to Calence in Tempe where I transition with Craig Stolins. When I see the Building Cleaning People, they tell me that they are have a party for me tomorrow night, my last night. They are bringing me Pizza!! I end this day at Calence at 11:59:59pmMST

29 October 2003 ....................................... Wednesday[ONE(1) Day till Retirement I begin this day at 12:00:01 at Calence in Tempe. David Shirey come in and I transition to him at about 07:25amMST At about 07:30amMST Kevin Meeks took me to US Egg for my Retirement Breakfast. Also attending were Tim Porthouse, Rich Lesniak, Michare Flores, Tania, Brad Curcio. USS Egg is where I first met Brad Curcio and Kevin Meeks as Calence was making their final decision as to whether or not to hive me, back in 2000. We AGAIN had a good breakfast and a very nice visit. Tim took me over to show me where The Calence Office used to be, when there were still know as Forte Consulting. I rode back to Calence, with Tim Porthouse in his "Land Rover". Then when we went up to the 4th Floor, the Calence Floor, there was all of the Calence People, in the Breakroom, for a Retirement Party for Me. It was a surprise, it was beautiful, it was a great tribute and greatlly appreciated. The gifts were superb, but could not compare with the good wishes and good feelings from my dear Calence Friends. Thank you all When the party was over, Tania, Jennifer, Peggy, Kevin, help me carry the "Loot" out to My Silverado. They have told me many times that they are going to Miss My Silverado and it's US Flag, there in the Front Parking Lot, when they come to work in the mornings.

30 October 2003 ............................................. Thursday Retirement Day 0 Days till Retirement I begin this day at Calence, Inc. at 12:00:01amMST in Tempe and that is the LAST TIME that will EVER happen. This is IT As I leave Calence at 08:30amMST, I am leaving for good. Today I retire. I was already tired, now I am retired. I gotta rest for awhile. About 07:30amMST I get a call from Stacey Kagan, telling me that she is sorry she missed my Retirement Party, Yesterday, but she thought it was today. She wished me well and we had a lot of good things to day about each other. About 07:45amMST I get a call from Joe Larson, telling me that he is sorry he missed my Retirement Party, Yesterday, but he thought it was today. he wished me well and we had a lot of good things to day about each other. Both Stacey and Joe, used to work here, at Calence, like I still do, for a few more minutes. We had, and still have, a really good relationship. It would have been nice to have seen them, one last time. They are doing well and they wished me well, with my Retirement. I thanked them both, for all the good that we have shared. Mike Frey could not make it in, by 08:30amMST so he IM'd me "Good Wishes". There were severally rounds of last good wishes, then it was 08:30amMST and "it was over, forever". Bye to all of you good people at Calence, Inc. I probably won't ever see any of you again, but it was good while it lasted. Thanks for all you have given to me and done for me. BYE I was so tired that I then got into the Malibu and drive to Paradise where I slept and slept and slept.

31 October 2003 .................................... Friday My first full day of retirement and I am resting............................. In the evening, David and Rachel and Myself go to Keith/Laree's for Halloween. They don't do a Spook Alley, this year. We just visit and eat and David, Rachel, Andrew go trick or treating. I break away for an hour or so and go visit Hank, Michelle, Emily, Jessica, Lindsay, Luke. We have a wonderful visit and they get to show me and to share with me their "take" from Trunk or Treat and also from Trick or Treat. I love every minut of it. Hank asks if I have heard from Shari and I told him that I talked to Shari and Tuesday and again on Wednesday. There is so much smoke that they have to stay inside, but they are OK and they are not in danger of burning, like the rest of Southern California.
