Journal for June of 2003 |
June 2003 ............ Sunday [Taco Sunday] Marilee had to work today. At about 8am, David and Melissa and I drove to the Church. Dave then went to Choir Practice. From 10am till NOON, we attended the Casa Grande Stake Conference with President Gibson Conducting. The conference was great and David sang in the Choir. We then went home, ate, slept. About 5pm we drove to the Church, picked up Rachel Beatty, then drove to Darren's, arrive at the same time that Marilee did. It was taco Sunday and it was good. Then Marilee, David, Melissa, Rachel drove to LaRee's and I went to sleep at Darren's. Later I got up and drove to Calence. I usually don't work on Sunday, but I did this Sunday. |
June 2003 ............ Thursday We were busy today getting ready for the family campout at Sunrise, this weekend. We will leave tomorror morning, when I get off work. |
June 2003 ........... Friday - Gifford Reunion When I got off work at Calence at 7:30amMST I drove the Malibu to Grandmother's in Mesa. There I met Marilee and family who had just driven from Eloy in the 2000 Silverado. We took Grandmother with us and drove to Sunrise for the Gifford Family Reunion. Riding in the Malibu were Marilee, Grandmother, Oreo and myself. We had a lot of fun on the trip up there, driving throught Salt River Canyon on the way. Marilee drove to Miami where we ate a lot of tacos at Taco Bell. I then drove to Sunrise, stopping for fuel in Show Low. Supper was Taco Salad by Alicia and Alica, and it was great. I knew it was going to be good as soon as I saw the "Pot of Beans" |
June 2003 ............... Saturday - Gifford Reunion We awoke this moring, kinda cold, at Sunrize, Arizona. Marilee and I had the Breakfast for everybody, so we got to work right away. We fixed Scrambled Eggs with the sausage in them, hot tortillas [for the eggs] grated cheese, salsa, orange juice. That evening we had Beef Stew, by Lance and Laree2. |
June 2003 ................. Sunday - Gifford Reunion This morning's breakfast was leftovers and it was good. French Toast, Scrambled Eggs, Dutch Oven Bisquits [by wendell], Gravy [by marilee], and a pot of Beans [by marilee]. I was home in time to clean up and go to the Arizona City Ward and do my job as the Financial Clerk. That felt good. |
June 2003 ................. Monday David, Melissa and I irrigate today. We make sure the ditch is ready for the water to be turned on at 9amMST then we drive to Casa Grande for David's Orthodontist appointment with Dr. Walton and I talk to Sister Lara to be sure my bill is paid in full there. I then go to Bank One and get a Cashier's Check for $700.00 for the pickup payment and drop that off in the Post Office. The water takes nearly 3 hours to run out on our pasture........but I don't know for sure if they did turn it on at 9amMST. It ran long enough to do a good job of irragation, and David did a good job of fixing the North Border to hold in the water till it can soak into the ground. |
June 2003 ............... Tuesday Marilee did not go to work today and it was nice to have her around for a day. Melissa went to girls camp. I sure hope she has a good time. I looked over yesterday's irrigation job and it looks good, almost perfect!! In the after noon we received a call from Chicago First, Melissa Vasilev, telling that we have passed the credit check and underwriting is ready to go. She ask if the flooring is done, for the Appraisal? I told her about 3/4 done. She ask about the siding and I assured her it is on, but no painted. We may or may not have to paint it. Melissa told me that she has been looking at www.wendelleyring.com and she likes it. Marilee and David went to town to get some floor tile then worked on getting it installed on the floor. I took pictures, outside and inside, and posted them on www.wendelleyring.com. |
June 2003 ................. Wednesday When I got home from work, at about 10am, David informed me that we did not have any water! That is bad. I changed clothes and went down to the well. The breaker was off BUT when I turned it on, it turned right back off!! That is bad. I tried a few more times and each time it popped right back off. Then Ernie Austin came out and explained that he had already found this out and had already called Skip Preston who said he would be out in a couple hours and he will bring a pump with him. So I went to Eloy and got the burn permit that we need to get the weeds burnt out of our ditch. Also filled the Silverado with Fuel. Skip Preston did come and did find the pump to be shorted out. He pulled the pump which is hanging on the end of 13 20 Foot 1inch pipes. He put in a new pump and motor which is $1800.00!!!! That is bad. The only real good news about this is that we do have enough money in our Well Agreement Bank Account to cover this. At different times we were all there to see what was going on: Ernie, Nadine, Amanda, Wendell. As usual there were disagreements between Nadine and Myself as to what the Well Agreement says!! So she tells me "You better go read the Well Agreement" and I tell her "You better go read the Well Agreement". We always end up friends. When Skip got the new pump in, it worked just fine. I put the old pump in the back of my pickup, along with the old pump controller, which Skip also replace. I slept till 8:30pmMST and only got to see Marilee for a 2 minutes, as she was leaving to get David from Mutual. |
June 2003 ............. Thursday Today I visted with David Pearson and let him see the Well Pump that failed and was replaced yesterday. David [son] and I went to get 5 bales of hay at Wuertz Farm. David and Marilee and I went to Home Depot and got some supplies for the flooring and the painting of the outside. |
June 2003 ................. Saturday My right shoulder has been hurting me for about two weeks now. Very little at first, only when I would lay on it for a long time. It has gotten gradually worse and worse until it has become almost unbearable. Yesterday and today we prepared and then painted the outside of the house [Yellow]. It looks great!! |
June 2003 ............ Sunday FATHER's Day Today I HURT, VERY MUCH David and I did our Home Teaching, 100%, today. Marilee taught the lesson in "Gospel Doctrine", I taught the Lesson in "High Priest's Group". This evening I finally could no longer stand the pain, so Marilee took me to the Emergency Room. I have bursitis in my right shoulder. They injected cortizone into the shoulder then have me a prescripton of Hydrocodone/apap rmg/500mg Tabs. My should hurt very much worse after the things they made me to at the hospital, so the could take exrays. It was terrible. I did calls from Wendy, Tim, Darren, Hank, Shari, Levi, Bridgette, Sara [message all the way from Europe], David, Melissa. Sorry I was hurting so bad I was hardly able to notice. Plus I called My Dad and left a Happy Father's Day Message. |
June 2003 ................... Monday Today I HURT, a lot. I took pictures of the outside of our house, in Paradise, the posted them on www.wendelleyring.com. at 10:30pmMST I went to work at Calence. |

My Right Shoulder is MUCH BETTER today and I am able to carry my bag in my right hand. WOW, What a relief. Marilee and Bridgette did a lot of work in the bathroom, yesterday and today. At about 10:30pmMST, after I was already at work, at Calence, I received a call from Dr. Ligouri, my Cardiologist, telling me that he has looked at the results of the Heart Test run on me, last Monday, and my heart is JUST FINE!! |
June 2003 ............. Thursday After meeting with Kevin, at Calence, I drove to Home Depot and bought 5 gallons of paint [Pale Sunshine] and a paint sprayer. |
June 2003 .............. Saturday Andrew and David sure did have a lot of fun with a King Snake that they found in the Motor Home. At the expense of Melissa and Rachel, I am afraid. When they were done, they turned the snake loose again, under the Motor Home. |
June 2003 ............ Tuesday - Irrigation today
CAIDD turned the water into N22-A. When I got off from work, at Calence, at 8:30amMST, I drove to N11-A, arriving there about 9:45amMST and learning that indeed the water is running towards "Paradise". Bigger stream than usual or ordered at 3.4CFS. Marilee and Ann helped me a lot and we not only irrigated but chopped down a LOT of weeks, mostly Tumbleweeds. Today Bridgette finished the inside south wall and it looks good. Marilee and Ann finished the Wall Tile and the floor, in the bathroom. LOOKS GREAT |
June 2003 ................ Wednesday Today I finished painting the outside of the South Wall, took pictures, and have already put them on www.wendelleyring.com. Marilee and David went to see "The Incredible Hulk". |

June 2003 .............. Monday - Appraisal done Today

I rented a tow dolly from U-Haul, in Casa Grande, then I went to Earnhardt Dodge in Gilbert and towed the Hyundai back to Paradise. I am going to repair it myself. I then took the tow dolly back to U-Haul. Today we got the long awaited Appraisal. Hope he gives a good number! |
