Journal for March of 2002
2002 Mar 02 ......................................... Saturday Marilee and I spent the day working on the house and got a lot of important things done. In the evening, we [Marilee, Bridgette, David, Melissa, Myself] went to Mom's to celebrate her birthday, which is tomorrow. We ate food from Matta's that had been purchased and brought in by Pat. After that we went to Marilee's mom's where we had a really nice visit.
2002 Mar 03 ................................. Sunday Dave and I collected Fast Offerings, in the morning, then went home teaching, in the afternoon. Also we visited the Eloy City Grave Yard and looked for the Graves of Ida Daniels and/or Delno White. We found neither.
2002 Mar 04 ........................................ Monday I start working on the house at about 7:30am, while it is still 25 degrees outside. Marilee gets the rest of the windows installed today. In the evening I drive to Calence where I transition with Fernando Zepeda, whose wife, of two (2) days, Adrianna, just became ill, in the last few hours, and had to be hosptilized.
2002 Mar 05 ...................................................... Tuesday I start off this day at Calence. 8a I transition with Stacey Kagan. OPS team meets with Brett Rushton who informs us that there will be more layoffs!! Class "Ethernet" with John Valdez. Stop at Home Depot and get another bathroom window. Stop at Sprint and get my phone repaired. Stop at Albertson's "Compass Bank" and make payment for Well Water. Stop at Wendy's and get "Taco Salad". feed horses, sleep, bath, visit marilee, feed horses, drive to Calence. Transition with Joe Larson.
2002 Mar 06 ...................................... Wednesday start off the day at calence. at 8am i transition with Stacey Kagan. stop at home depot for a few things. get dave from bus and take dave to mutual. Bridgette very sick today. drive to calence and transition with Joe Larson
2002 Mar 07 .................................. Thursday start off the day at Calence. At 8am I transition to Stacey Kagan. Drive to Chevron and get gas. Drive to Wal*Mart and get 4x6 flag. Drive to Home Depot where I mount the flag on the pickup flagpole. When Marilee arrives at Home Depot we buy 4 doors and 1 water heater, for the house. We take the doors home with us, at this time, and it will be about a week before the water heater arrives. At home we move the doors into the house then I patch some holes in the roof because I think it is going to rain tonight. Bridgette is really sick today and he tonsils are really big with lots of big white puss pockets on them. I feel so bad for her. She is really miserable. I sleep till 8pm then bath and go to Calence where I transition with Joe Larson. Joe had for me, a bowl of Chili, that his wife had made. It was really good.
2002 Mar 10 ........................................ Sunday I am the only one here, in Paradise, when I awake this morning. I go to church and teach lesson number 5 "Testimony" in High Priest's Group. Then I drive to Mesa and get Levi, Bridgette, David, Andrew, Melissa. We drop off Andrew, at his home, then drive to Paradise.
2002 Mar 11 ................................................................ Monday 6 months since the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center. I hooked Orion on the back of the Z71 and led him around the big property to the east, 4 times, at about 20 to 25 Miles per hour. It was good excercise for him. Marilee and Levi and I work on the house today. In the evening, Marilee and Levi and Bridge and David and Melissa go to Kevin and Ginnie's for a weiner roast. As I am driving to work, I get a phone call from Marilee who is driving home from Kevin's. She puts Bridgette on the phone, who tells me that she has taken out her tounge Ring. THAT is very good news. That means that Bridgette is turning back to the good and that make me very happy. At Calence and Transition with Fernando Zepeda.
2002 Mar 12 .................................................. Tuesday I start off this day at Calence. at 8 am I transitioned with Stacey Kagan. Today Calence laid off about 25 people. Thankfully I was not one of them. After work I went to Ferrellgas to check on a weedburner/large tank on a trailer. Levi and Marilee are there when I get home. I work on the house for awhile, then take a nap. Later I work on the house some more and I excercise Orion by running him around, behind the pickup. In the evening I drive to Calence where I transition with Joe Larson.
2002 Mar 13 ........................................... Wednesday I start off this day at Calence. At 8am I transition with Stacey Kagan. Lamar was born this day in 1940 making him now 62 years old. I called and left him a "Happy Birthday" message. On the way home I stop at the SS office in CG. I show them the letter from the Railroad telling me that my railroad retirement money is to be transferred to the SS. She looked at the records and said that had not been done and that the Railroad is the one that must do that. I stopped by Ferrellgas but they still do not have a tank for me. I saw Marilee, briefly, twice today. Once when she got back from taking kids to school and once when she got back from visiting Ann. Brett had a 2 hour BU meeting from 3 till 5 today. I teleconferenced in for the whole meeting. In the evening I drive to Calence and Transition with Joe Larson.
2002 Mar 14 ..................................................... Thursday Bubba was born this day in 1958 making him 44 years old. I called him and wished him a "Happy Birthday". I start off this day at Calence. at 8am I transition with Stacey Kagan. On the way home I stop at Home Depot and pickup our new AquaStar Tankless Water Heater. At home I go along ways towards getting this new water heater working, but it requires a LPGas regulator that it does NOT furnish!! Today, Marilee cooked our supper in our new house. She did this in the Crock Pot and we ate supper in the new house. In the evening, I drive to Calence and transiton with Joe Larson.

2002 Mar 17 ............................................ Sunday I was born on this day in 1939 making me 63 years old today. Pat was born on this day in 1947 making her 55 years old today. I called Pat and wished her a happy Birthday. This evening, Hank and Michelle, and Emily and Jessica, and Lindsay and Luke came to Taco Supper for my Birthday. I loved it, both the Supper and the presence of Marilee, David, Melissa, Hank, Michelle, Emily, Jessica, Lindsay, Luke. Also, Marilee gave me a badly needed Watch as a birthday gift.

2002 Mar 18 .................................................... Monday It rained today. Hasn't done that in a long time. I got the Tankless Water Heater running, again. I put a faucett on the outdoor utility tub. I picked up Dave, from the Bus Stop, at 4pm.
2002 Mar 19 .......................................... Tuesday I start off this day at Calence. at 8am I transition with Stacey Kagan. In the evening I transition with Joe Larson and finish off the day at Calence.
2002 Mar 20 .............................................. Wednesday I start off this day at Calence. At 8am I transition to Stacey Kagan, then I drive to Amerigas in Casa Grande but there is noone there. When I get home, I call and talk to Nadine for awhile. Then I find the LR tire on the Z71 is flat so I fix it. But My patch leaks so I have to take it to American Car Center to get it repaired. At 2:30pm I pick up David from the Bus Stop. In the evening I drive Dave to Mutual, visit with Marilee, then drive to Calence where I transition with Joe Larsen.
2002 Mar 21 ............................................. Thursday 1st Day of Spring and Sandra's birthday. I start off this day at Calence.
2002 Mar 23 ................................... Saturday I burned weeds today. Marilee took David and Melissa and Andrew and Katelyn to the "Renesance Festival" in Apache Junction.
2002 Mar 24 ................................................. Sunday Marilee and David and Melissa and I attend CG 2nd Ward at 10:30amMST.
2002 Mar 25 .............................................. Monday Today we get and County Inspection on our hours. The ispector is Bob DeBow, and he passes off the Roof Nail so we can put on the roofing. He passes off the Framing and Sheeting so we can put on the outer Felt, Foam, Wire in preperation for the Stucco. He flunked the TJI trusses and said we have to either put in more trusses or put in a mid span support for the existing trusses. I was both surprised and disappointed by that!! About 7pm, Brent comes to pickup David and Melissa for a few days visit with them. In the evening I drive to Calence where I transition with Michael Flores.
2002 Mar 26 ....................................... Tuesday I start off this day at Calence. At 8am I transition to Stacey Kagan. I go to Home Depot and get a sample of outside foam and drip screed for the house and a few other things. I get a self Lighting Butane Lighter at Barbaques Galore. Get an egg mcmuffin and milk at 7/11. I go to Amerigas, CG, Kinney, and learn a few things about Propane Bottles and Weed Burners. Next to Powell's where I get a shirt and a sack of Oats. To BootHill for repair of my worn out boots and also buy a pair of used boots. Comet Cleaners to leave some shirts for cleaning. In Coolidge I stop at Wal*Mart to get some whiteout and bananna and prepare and request for an extension to our TUP. Next to Florence, Pinal County, for extension of TUP. I drive down Valley Farms Road, on the way home to "Paradise" in Eloy. I have Bridge call Melissa because Melissa has called me every hour, all morning long, wanting Bridge to call. I sleep till 8pm then shower, visit Marilee and drive to Calence
2002 Mar 27 ......................................... Wednesday I start off the day and Calence. at 8a i transition to stacey kagan, then I talk to kevin meeks till about 9am on the way home i stop at amerigas in cg but kinney is not there so i left a card so he would know that I was there. At home I have a nice visit with Marilee until she leaves for Tucson to get David and Melissa. I sleep till 8p then as I go to take a shower, there is no hot water at all. I learn that the supply hose has been disconnected from the supply faucet so I hook it up. as I am getting in the truck (Z71) to leave, Marilee walks up to say goodbye. I had not even known that she was there.....I thought she was at Mutual................. I drive to Calence and transition with Michael Flores. Fernando Zepeda comes in to get his stuff from his drawer....he does not work here any longer.
2002 Mar 28 .................................................. Thursday I start off this day at Calence. Very busy in fact so busy that when Stacey Kagan comes in early to transition before our meeting today, I ask her to take Swift Corsicana and work it. They are having a problem and I have not even had time to look at it and/or start a Remedy Ticket. After the Meeting I drive to Comet Cleaners in CG and learn that my shirts are not yet done. At home I install two new faucets on the waterline. Marilee and I move Orion's pen and stake it down so he can't push it around. I sleep till 7pm then I shower and then Marilee and David and I go have supper at Flying J. We take seperate cars so I can go straight to work at Calence, when we are done. I transition with Joe Larsen.
2002 Mar 29 ............................................. Friday I start off this day at Calence.
2002 Mar 30 .......................................................... Saturday I attempt to l lead Blase around the 40 acres, behind the pickup, like I do Orion, but she only goes around once, then she drags back and refuses to go and get pulled over by the pickup. injures her left eye somehow.
2002 Mar 31 ............................................ Sunday Easter Sunday Marilee works today Bridge and Dave and Melissa and I attend CG 2nd Ward at 11amMST. The program is really good with talks by the Duncans and beautiful music by Lea and others I sit with Bridge during Sunday School Class After Church, I take Bridge and Dave and Melissa with me to home teach Joan LaFaut who is sick and asleep so we only get to visit with her son. Blase is sick and hurting today.
