At about 1amMST we received a call from Sara at Williamsfield Equestrian Center.
She called to tell us that Blaze had just given birth to a Palomino colt and all was well.

Marilee and I got into the car and drove out to Williams Field Equestrian Center, arriving there at approximately 2amMST.
The weather was nice. The moon was gibious and waning @ approx. ¾. Orion was the prominent constellation,
as we looked up from the pen where Blaze and her new foal were doing just fine.
The new little colt was already up and walking around and nursing. He is so soft and cute.
It looks like he will have all golden color except for 4 white stockings and white mane and white tail
and white blaze starting very narrow just above the eyes and widening as it comes down his nose
till it covers both nostrils, almost just like his mother. We know nothing about his father.
Sara, an interested "Fellow Horse Owner", is still there so we have a chance to ask her a few questions
and it sounds like Blaze did a great job of getting the colt here, all by herself.
Mother and Son are well and healthy and Blaze is a really good mother to this new colt.

At about 7amMST, when Marilee goes to work, I take David and Melissa and Amelia out to see the new Colt.

After church I go alone to see the new Colt again. Still looking really good.

When Marilee gets off from work we go again to see Blaze and “Orion”, which we have decided to call him.

We go over to Alan’s to visit, this evening. We, of course, announce the arrival of Orion this morning.

Laree, #1, wants to go see him in the morning.

Orion is 1 day old today.
At 8amMST, we arrive at Williams Field Equestrian Center to visit with Blaze and Shag and Orion. All are well.
I go to Higley Feed and Seed and get a bag of oats and a bag of “Foal and Brood Mare” Horse feed.
Marilee saddles Shag and both she and Laree ride her. I halter both Blaze and Orion and take them for a very short walk, just out of the pen and to the end of the shed, Orion’s first halter and first walk outside his pen.

When we are driving out of Williams Field Equestrian Center, Andy congratulates us on our new Colt and tells us of a Horse Trailer for sale.

About 10amMST, David says I receive a call from Jim Flake announcing the birth of Orion, but we already know about it.

I arrived at Calence at 10:30pmMST for on duty at 11:30pmMST. Present at that time were Brenda and Rich.
I told them that we had a new baby Horse, a Palomino Colt, born yesterday. They thought that was pretty neat.

Thursday – Orion is 4 days old today

This is the first day I have felt front lower teeth in Orion’s mouth.

Friday – September 22
Orion is 5 days old today

I put a halter and lead rope on both Blaze and Orion. I then lead Blaze over to the small round pen
and Orion follows along real nicely, occasionally running around on the way over and then on the way back.
I turn them loose in the little round pen for awhile while I go look at the 2 horse trailer for sale.
On the way back to Blaze’s pen a lady is walking by and she just raves about how CUTE Orion is.
